ABSOLUTE IS AN AWARDED TIPS VENDOR

Absolute Communications & Network, Inc. is an awarded vendor through TIPS – The Interlocal Purchasing System. TIPS members can use awarded cooperative contracts to streamline eligible purchases while following their organization’s own procurement policies.

Absolute currently appears on three active TIPS awards covering technology solutions, consulting, and audio visual equipment and services.

WHAT IS TIPS?

TIPS is a cooperative purchasing program that provides competitively procured contracts for eligible education, government, and nonprofit organizations. Membership is free, and TIPS coordinates awarded vendor contracts and a defined purchase-order process for participating members.

Competitively Procured

TIPS conducts public solicitations and awards contracts that members can evaluate for use under their applicable procurement requirements.

Simplified Purchasing

Members can work from an awarded contract rather than starting every eligible procurement from the beginning.

Free Membership

TIPS states that membership is free. Texas entities use an Interlocal Agreement as part of the membership process.

WHO CAN USE TIPS?

TIPS membership includes a broad range of education, government, and nonprofit organizations. Eligibility and purchasing authority should always be confirmed by the member organization.

Education

K-12 school districts, charter and private schools, colleges, universities, special education districts, and other eligible educational entities.

Government

Cities, counties, state and federal agencies, emergency service districts, park and water districts, transportation authorities, tribes, and other eligible public entities.

Nonprofit

Eligible nonprofit organizations such as hospitals, nursing homes, member associations, charitable organizations, and other qualifying entities.

HOW TO PURCHASE FROM ABSOLUTE THROUGH TIPS

The official TIPS member process starts with the awarded contract and vendor, then moves through quote, purchase order, and TIPS processing.

1. Request an Absolute Quote

Contact Absolute, identify your organization as a TIPS member, and tell us about the project. We will prepare a quote under the appropriate TIPS award.

2. Create Your Purchase Order

After selecting the vendor under your organization’s purchasing protocol, create a PO that clearly identifies the purchase as a TIPS purchase and includes the applicable TIPS contract number.

3. Send the PO and Quote to TIPS

For non-automated vendors, TIPS instructs members to email the completed PO and vendor quote to its PO processing address as PDF files.

4. TIPS Processes the Order

TIPS reviews the submission, forwards it to the appropriate vendor, and provides the member a compliance letter under the standard non-automated process.

Procurement note: TIPS explains that purchasing laws and policies vary by entity type, location, purchase type, spend amount, and local rules. Each member organization is responsible for determining whether a TIPS cooperative purchase is appropriate for a particular procurement.
